Eupithecia biornata Christoph, 1867 , Stettiner Entomologische Zeitung. 28 (4–6): 238. Syntypes 2♀ (coll. O. Staudinger in MNHU; BMNH, examined), [ Russia]: Sarepta [= Krasnoarmeysk].
This is a widespread species ranging from the Strimon delta in northern Greece and the coast of the Black Sea in the west through the south of European Russia, Ural, Kazakhstan, western and southern Siberia to the Chinese province of Heilongjiang in the east. It was recorded for the fauna of Mongolia almost simultaneously by Viidalepp (1975) and Vojnits (1975). Mongolia (aimags): Bayan-Khongor, Bulgan, Dornod, Govi-Altai, Khentii, Khovd, Sukhbaatar, Uvurkhangai.
