Busoniomimus umbellatus Xue & Zhang View in CoL , sp. nov.
Description. Length (including wings): male 4.1mm.
Body stramineous with dark markings. Crown and upper part of face stramineous; frontoclypeus reddish brown; anteclypeus black with margins reddish brown; lora and gena brownish; antennal second segment black; ocelli reddish brown, each with adjacent small black spot ventrolaterad ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 C–D). Pronotum stramineous with posterior part darker. Scutellum ochraceous, lateral margins and apex yellowish, basal triangles darker ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A). Forewing dark brown, basal part of costa yellowish, broad. Mesepimeron black. Legs stramineous, hind leg macrosetal bases reddish brown ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 B).
Body small. Crown rugose. Face much wider than long; lateral frontal sutures straight, not reaching ocelli; frontoclypeus broad, oval; anteclypeus broad apically, inverted T-shaped, apex slightly concave; lateral margin of gena slightly curved; with short seta adjacent to corresponding eye; ocelli midway between eye and median line; rostrum short, not reaching hind coxae ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 D). Pronotum elevated, anterior margin convex, posterior margin slightly concave. Scutellum longer than pronotum. Forewing with 2 subapical cells, 1st cell open, 2nd closed, claval veins and major veins with a series of punctures.
Male pygofer elongate, triangular, dorsum with long membranous area and inner process, fork-shaped, broad, apex pointed; inner process along ventral margin, elongate, apex pointed ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A). Subgenital plate narrow and long, not reaching apex of pygofer, with row of long hairlike setae on dorsal and ventral margin. Style broadened medially, tapering apically, dorsal margin with dense strong setae at apical half, ventral margin with numerous short setae in middle, concave medially on ventral margin ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 F). Aedeagal shaft elongate, cylindrical, apical half straight, tapering apically, apex slender, surface pustulate except apical and basal regions; dorsal apodeme well developed, umbrella-shaped in ventral view; aedeagus shallowly excavated on ventral margin at base of shaft, preatrium with triangular lobe on ventral margin, thin ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 D–E).
Material examined. Holotype: ♂, MALAYSIA, Sarawak (Lambir) Hills Natl Park, S Miri, N4°11ʹ53.9ʺ E114°02ʹ31.4ʺ, 2006-x-12–23. J.R. Cryan & J.M. Urban, Hg vapor light ( INHS).
Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the aedeagus having developed a dorsal apodeme, umbrella-shaped in ventral view.
Remarks. This species is similar to B. hainanensis Zhang & Li from China in the shape of aedeagus, but it can be distinguished by the crown and pronotum lacking black markings, the pygofer dorsum with a fork-shaped process, and the aedeagal base with a triangular lobe on the ventral margin.
