A recently described genus of about 10 species from Africa to southeast Asia and Polynesia, with one species introduced and widely naturalized in the neotropics. Amblovenatum is characterized by having veins united below, or connivent to, the sinuses, relatively large, persistent indusia, laminae lacking greatly reduced proximal pinnae, and sessile, sulfur-yellow glands on the lamina abaxially, especially along the veins and costules; x = 36. With only meager data, Amblovenatum appears to be allied to Christella ( He & Zhang 2012) and part of the Christelloid clade of Almeida et al. (2015).
