Range:— Antilles; southern Mexico to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP) and northern Brazil.
Ecology:— Rare; terrestrial along humid forest margins, in secondary forests, and in plantations; 200–800 m.
Notes:— Buds are often present in axils of proximal pinnae, a departure from the presence of distal buds in many species of Goniopteris .
