Specimens. MZUC 11273 (adult male), 14 January 1964. Rancho Grande, Parque Nacional Henri Pittier, estado Aragua. MZUC 12028 (subadult female), 14 January 1964, from same locality. MZUC 12033 (adult male); MZUC 12029, 12031 (adult females); MZUC 11274, 12030, 12032 (juveniles), 26 October 1963, from same locality.
Remarks. This topotypic series contains an adult male (MZUC 11273) of 48.57 mm with unusual coloration, including suprahumeral white round ocelli surrounded by black. Those specimens of Gonatodes taniae with suprahumeral ocelli are very rare at the type locality, located at the southern side of the Cordillera de la Costa (W. Schargel, pers. com.), but no so uncommon on the northern side of the Cordillera de la Costa.
