Remarks. Valid species described from Czech Republic ( Kurz 1874). Worlwide this is a complex of cryptic species ( Petrusek et al. 2004). Note that Indian populaions described by Michael & Sharma B.K. (1988) belong to M. micrura dubia in understanding of Smirnov (1976).
Moina dodhui Rane, 1987 is a junior synonym of M. micrura (see Sharma B.K. & Sharma S. 1990). “ Moina dubia ” from West Bengal — Swell (1935); Tamil Nadu — Brehm (1936), Bihar — Brehm (1950), Karnataka — Brehm (1953), Rajasthan — Biswas (1971) belongs also to Moina micrura Kurz, 1874 (see Michael & Sharma B.K. 1988).

Distribution. Widely distributed in tropics and subtropics, southern Europe.
