(2008a, b); Goa— Rane (2008); Jammu & Kashmir— Brehm (1936), Akthar (1972), Yousuf et al (1984), Balkhi (1987), Parveen (1988), Michael & Sharma B.K. (1988), Raina & Vass (1993), Siraj et al. Remarks. Valid species described from European Russia ( Fischer 1848). It is, most probably, a group of closely related, valid species ( Van Damme & Dumont 2010), which Smirnov (1971) listed available names for (and divided into subspecies).
Distribution. Cosmopolitan ( Smirnov 1971).
Graptoleberis testudinaria nathsagarensis Rane 2005
Type locality. “ Nathsagar-Jaikwadi wetland, Paithan , Distt. Aurangabad, Maharashtra State ” ( Rane 2005b) .
Indian records. Maharashtra — Rane (2005b).
Remarks. Differences from G. occidentalis Sars, 1901 and G. pannonica Daday 1903 listed by the author are quite subjective and too variable among populations. Unfortunately, any differences from G. testudinaria Fischer,
1848 s.str. were not suggested, as well as the last available revision ( Radzimovsky 1982) was not even mentioned by Rane (2005b). At this moment, the taxon by Rane seems to be a junior synonym of G. testudinaria .
