Type locality. " Ajwa Reservoir, vicinity of Ahmedabad", Gujarat, India (according to the neotype, selected by Kotov 2000) .
Indian records. Goa— Rane (2008); Gujarat — Petkovski (1966), Kotov (2000); Madhya Pradesh —Michael & Sharma B.K. (1988); Maharashtra —Rane (1992, 2002, 2005b, 2009); West Bengal —Venkataraman et al. (1993); General Record— Fernando & Kanduru (1984), Sharma B.K. & Michael (1987), Murugan et al. (1998), Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003).
Remarks. Valid taxon, only member of the Aloninae tribe Indialonini , with peculiar morphology (Kotov 2000).
Distribution. At this moment, this taxon seems to be a true endemic of India.

Indialona jabalpurensis Rane, 1983
Type locality. "A hill-top tank near Madan mahal, 1 km. south-west of Premnager, Jabalpur , Madhya Pradesh " ( Rane 1983a) .

Remarks. A junior synonym of A. macronyx ( Rajapaksa & Fernando 1987a; Sharma B.K. & Sharma S. 1990), a species that is now allocated to the genus Celsinotum Frey, 1991 , as C. macronyx (see Sinev & Kotov 2012).
