(99) Leydigia (Leydigia) leydigi ( Schoedler, 1863) View in CoL s.lat.

Indian records. Andhra Pradesh —Prasad et al. (1986).

Remarks. Valid species described from Germany ( Schoedler 1863). Prasad et al. (1986) used a mixed sample with two species for their “description of new species” Leydigia ankammaraoi Prasad, Santa Kumari et Bose, 1986 (see Kotov 2009) According to the description of Prasad et al. (1986), their species has a well-developed basal spine and five setae on the exopodite of limb III, thus belongs to the L. ( Leydigia ) subgenus (see Kotov 2009). Preliminary, we can determine this species as a hitherto unknown member of the L. leydigi group. Indian records of ' L. quadrangularis ' could also belong to this taxon, which needs to be revised based on original material.

Distribution. L. leydigi s.str. is known only from Palaearctic, while in the tropics there are other species (Kotov 2003; 2009).

Leydigia (Leydigia) quadrangularis ( Leydig, 1860)

Indian records. Assam — Biswas (1980); Rajasthan — Sharma V. et al. (2012); General record— Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003) .

Remarks. Originally, this species was described from Switzerland ( Leydig 1860). Junior synonym of L. leydigi (see Kotov 2003, 2009; Van Damme et al. 2010).
