Diagnosis. External characters as in generic description of Viraktamath & Webb (2019) and Yao et al. (2019).

Remarks. The genus can be identified by the following characteristics. Medium sized body, mostly black and often glossy. Width of head including eyes narrower than width of pronotum, anterior margin of the crown arcuate, with two marginal ridges. Face including eyes wider than long, upper part of face tumid in lateral view, frontoclypeus flat, horizontal at the base, lorum short and wide. Pronotum transversely broad, surface slightly wrinkled. Forewing often with yellow or white or transparent patch, with 3 subapical cells and 4 apical cells. Male pygofer wide at base, tipped with setae, ventral margin protruding in various forms. Valve subtrapezoidal or triangular, subgenital plate with irregular setae. Subterminal process of style well-developed, terminal process short and coarse, surface sculptured. Connective and aedeagus fused, aedeagus with two shafts and two gonopores each with processes near apical gonopore.
