Ardissonea fulgens var. (Lobarzewsky) Rabenhorst
Reported by Lobban et al. (2012), Lobarzewsky’s diatom proved to be a valid but dubious species and not what we have here, so Lobban et al. (2022) renamed our species Ardissoneopsis appressata Lobban & Ashworth.
