Laminicoccus flandersi Williams View in CoL
Laminicoccus flandersi Williams, 1985a: 190 View in CoL ; Cox, 1987: 51: BenDov, 1994: 211. Holotype AUS TRALIA, New South Wales (ANIC).
Comments
This species possesses a large circulus divided by an intersegmental line. Multilocular disc pores are present across the ventromedial posterior edges of abdominal segments V and VI and posterior to the vulva. Oralrim tubular ducts are absent and ventral oralcollar tubular ducts are slender and present on abdominal segments V–VII only. Although the cerarii towards the anterior and posterior ends of the body are normal for the genus, some cerarii on the intermediate segments are small and inconspicuous; however, each rarely contains fewer than five conical setae and sclerotization is always present, if sometimes rather weak.
As indicated by Williams (1985a), the species has been intercepted a few times in the U.S.A., on palms.
Distribution
AUSTRALIA, New South Wales, Sydney (Botanic Gardens), on Howeia sp. ( Arecaceae ). NEW ZEALAND, Auckland, Wanganui, on Gronophyllum sp. ( Arecaceae ).
