Xyrosaria; Kearfott, 1903: 150 [misspelling of Xyrosaris View in CoL ].

Description of adult. Head with rough and erect scales; ocelli absent. Antenna filiform; reaching 9/10 forewing; labial palpus long, little upcurved, 3 rd segments with well-developed tuft scales ( Figs 1A, 1B View FIGURES 1 ), forewing lanceolate with long fringe, 12-veined, R 1 from 1/3 costa, R 4 and R 5 separated, M 2 and M 3 connate or short-stalked; hindwing lanceolate, Sc+R 1 reach to 1/3 costa, M 3 and CuA 1 fused ( Fig. 1C View FIGURES 1 ), rounded rectangular pleural lobe on male 8 th abdominal segment ( Fig. 1D View FIGURES 1 ); socius lanceolate with a thorn at apex, uncus triangular; tuba analis membranous, with a linear sclerotized band ventrally, valva elongated oval with harpe, gnathos elongated as hexagonal thin plate, covered by teeth, saccus short with dilated posteriorly in the male genitalia, between papilla analis and 8 th segment as long as 8 th segment; sterigma well developed and densely covered with setae on surface, a pair of posterior edges produced as rounded lobes bearing long setae; ductus bursae long, corpus bursae like a pear shape, signum present in the female genitalia.

Remarks. In the present study, we tried to divide the species using superficial characteristics. Nevertheless, we were unable to identify superficial variety by intra- and interspecific variation. We provide identifying keys to species of the genus exclusive of superficial characters accordingly.
