Trypetolimnia Mayer, 1953: 215 . Type species: Trypetolimnia rossica Mayer, 1953 (monotypy).

Diagnosis. Frontal vitta wide and shining. Face with black median spot. Anepisternum and anepimeron bare. Upper posterior margin of katepisternum with 2 long setae. Only 1 pair of postalar setae. Wing hyaline with distinct reticulated pattern.

Remarks. This monotypic genus comprises only 1 described species, Trypetolimnia rossica Mayer, 1953 , which is restricted to the Palearctic Region.

Before our study, Trypetolimnia had never been recorded from China. We determined 3 females of T. rossica from Liaoning Province, Xingjiang , and Qinghai Province, all of which are in the Palearctic Region of China . This is the first record of Trypetolimnia from China.

Specimens examined. 1♀, CHINA, Xinjiang, Akesu , 2400 m, 1977. VI . 19, Changjiang Li ( IZCAS); 1♀, CHINA, Qinghai, Yushu , 3750 m, 1964. VII. 4, Shuyong Wang ( IZCAS) ; 1♀, CHINA, Liaoning, Shenyang, 2016. IV . 4–19, collectors unknown ( CAU).
