Tribe Eurygeniini LeConte, 1862
– Eurygenius sp.
Nikbakhtzadeh & Tirgari (2002) mentions Eurygenius sp. (which is listed among members of the nonexistant “ Pedilidae ”) from Hamedan Province. Taking into account the fact that Eurygenius LaFerté-Sénectère, 1849 is a New World genus and considering that the mentioned publication is full of unforgivable mistakes and identification errors (for example, Oedemeridae is confused with Сerambycidae, Сantharidae with Сicindelidae, etc.—as determined from the published photographs), we do not take it seriously as a scientific paper and are consequently ignoring this record.
