DESCRIPTION: Thallus parasitic on Neinburgia andersoniana (J. Agardh) Kylin (= Nitophyllum andersonianum J. Agardh ). The protologue description can be found in Setchell (1923).

ETYMOLOGY: The specific epithet recognizes the initial description of Polycoryne gardneri made by W.A. Setchell (1923).
