LECTOTYPE: AMNH 650816 About AMNH , adult male, collected on Saipan Island , 15.12N, 145.43E (Times Atlas), Mariannas Islands , Micronesia, on 1 August 1895, by collectors for Alan Owston (no. A23). From the Rothschild Collection. GoogleMaps

COMMENTS: A male type was indicated in the original description, but the total number of specimens was not mentioned. There were four males collected, and the measurements given were not individually diagnostic. Hartert (1920: 497) listed the specimen bearing the unique date of 1 August 1895 as the type of R. saipanensis , thereby designating it the lectotype. Paralectotypes are AMNH 650817– 650822.
