HOLOTYPE: AMNH 219536 About AMNH , adult male, collected on Ganongga (5 Ganonga) Island, 08.00S, 156.34E (Times Atlas), Solomon Islands, on 25 October 1927, by Rollo H. Beck on the Whitney South Sea Expedition (no. 28825). GoogleMaps
COMMENTS: The AMNH number of the holotype was cited in the original description. Mayr (1936: 19) gave further details on ganongae along with measurements of four males and three females. Paratypes are: AMNH 219533–219535, adult males, AMNH 219537, immature male, AMNH 219538, immature female, and AMNH 219539– 219541, adult females, all collected on Ganongga in October 1927.
