COMMENTS: Hartert cited Kühn’s unique field number of the holotype in the original description. He apparently forgot he had named these birds previously as perneglecta (see above) and used the same 12 specimens as his type series for tiandu. The 11 paratypes are: AMNH 650991–650998 and 651000– 651002. These include the holotype of perneglecta, AMNH 650998.

This name was omitted by Watson and Mayr (1986: 539).
