Gerygone tenebrosa christophori Mathews, 1912a: 311 View in CoL (Carnarvon, West Australia).
Now Gerygone tenebrosa christophori Mathews, 1912 View in CoL . See Meise, 1931: 339, Mayr, 1986b: 454, and Schodde and Mason, 1999: 187.
HOLOTYPE: AMNH 606634 About AMNH , adult male, collected at Carnarvon , 24.53S, 113.40E ( Johnstone and Storr, 2004: 505), Western Australia, Australia, on 15 September 1911, by Tom Carter. From the Mathews Collection (no. 9632) via the Rothschild Collection. GoogleMaps
COMMENTS: Mathews cited his catalog number of the holotype in the original description. In addition to Carter’s label and Mathews and Rothschild type labels, the specimen bears a yellow ‘‘Figured’’ label, indicating that it was illustrated in Mathews (1920a: pl. 382, lower fig., opp. p. 140, text pp. 152, 154), where it is confirmed as the type of christophori. The number ‘‘464A’’ on Carter’s label refers to the number of this species in Mathews (1908a). There are four paratypes: females, AMNH 606635, 28 September, AMNH 606636, 15 September, AMNH 606637 (Mathews no. 9743), 7 August, and AMNH 606638 (9742), 7 August, all collected by Tom Carter at Carnarvon in 1911.
