COMMENTS: Mathews apparently had a single specimen from Cobbora. This specimen does not bear a Mathews or Rothschild type label, but both the original Austin label and the Rothschild label (printed ‘‘Ex. coll. G.M. Mathews) have been marked ‘‘Type’’. It had not previously been included in the AMNH type collection, although it is listed as the type by Mayr and Serventy (1938: 254). Cobbora, or Cobborah, was the site of a property owned by Austin in central New South Wales east of Dubbo.
