Linotetranus sibiriensis Khaustov & Khaustov, 2023

L. sibiriensis Khaustov & Khaustov, 2023 , 68. Russia, ex. soil in the steppe.

Material examined. Four females were collected from sand and grit near the Caspian Sea coast, Astara, Gilan Province, Iran, 38° 26’ 1” N, 48° 52’ 53” E, 22 April 2021, coll. M.M. Khanzadeh.

Type depository. Three females deposited at SBUK-No. Lin 2, one female deposited at JAZM .

Note. This is the second report of L. sibiriensis for the world and the first report from Iran. The original description and the Iranian specimens have no distinct structural differences except the length of the dorsal setae as follows (Iranian specimens vs. original description in Khaustov & Khaustov 2023): v 1 19–20 vs. 20–25 (22), v 2 33–36 vs. 43–46 (44), sc 1 73–76 vs. 73–83 (80), sc 2 84–92 vs. 88–95 (93), c 1 16–19 vs. 23–28 (23), c 2 28–31 vs. 35–48 (44), c 3 78–81 vs. 76–94 (94), c 4 75–85 vs. 80–89 (87), d 1 16–18 vs. 20–24 (20), d 2 24–25 vs. 32–41 (32), d 3 77–79 vs. 72–79 (78), e 1 10 –14 vs. 10–14 (13), e 2 22 –30 vs. 34–45 (37), e 3 60 –66 vs. 58–68 (64), e 4 29 –33 vs. 33–43 (40), f 1 16–17 vs. 15–18 (16), f 2 26–27 vs. 24–25 (24), f 3 140–152 vs. 119–121 (120), h 1 27–33 vs. 29–33 (33), h 2 126–135 vs. 126–135 (135), h 3 65–69 vs. 61–66 (65), h 4 33–36 vs. 30–34 (34) Therefore, we decided to consider the Iranian specimens conspecific of L. sibiriensis .

Previously, four species of Linotetranus have been recorded from Iran: L. niknami Bagheri & Haddad, 2008 ; L. astragalusi Khanjani et al. 2011 ; L. iraniensis Khanjani et al. 2011 ; L. eghbaliani Khanjani et al. 2012 ( Bagheri et al. 2008; Khanjani et al. 2011, 2012).
