DISTRIBUTION: Between Sankosh and Manas Rivers, Indo-Bhutan border.
COMMENT: Formerly included in Trachypithecus ; considered a subgenus by Szalay and Delson, 1979:402. For authorship of the name, see Biswas, 1967, J. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc., 63:429-431. May prove to be a subspecies of pileata (CAH) .
PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix I and U.S. ESA - Endangered.
