Family Sididae
Diaphanosoma dubium Manuilova, 1964 View in CoL . Common in ponds and reservoirs, rarely in rivers. Widespread in South- East and East Asia, distributed north up to the Amur River basin. For more information see Korovchinsky (1992, 2004) and Korovchinsky and Sanoamuang (2008).
Diaphanosoma excisum Sars, 1885 View in CoL . In all types of water bodies, but most common in ponds, usually rather abundant. Widely distributed in tropics and subtropics of Eastern Hemisphere, eurytopic, often dominates communities. For detailed description see Korovchinsky (2004).
Diaphanosoma macrophtalma Korovchinsky & Mirabdulaev, 1995 View in CoL . Encountered once in small reservoir (loc. 56) in spring. Central and East Asia from Uzbekistan to Japan, penetrating south to North-East Thailand ( Korovchinsky & Sanoamuang 2008a). For description see Korovchinsky et Mirabdulaev (1995) and Korovchinsky (2004).
Diaphanosoma orghidani transamurensis Korovchinsky, 1986 View in CoL . Encountered in two reservoirs (loc. 27, 34, 51) and a dammed river (loc. 49) in spring. East Asian subspecies, distributed from Amur basin to Philippines. For description see Korovchinsky (1992, 2004). D. orghidani Negrea, 1982 View in CoL was previously recorded for Hainan by Li et al. (2011), these records probably belong to D. o. transamurensis View in CoL as well, nominative subspecies D. o. orghidani View in CoL is not recorded in East Asia ( Korovchinsky 2004).
Diaphanosoma sarsi Richard, 1894 View in CoL . In reservoirs, ponds and paddy fields, not common. Widely distributed in tropics and subtropics of the Eastern Hemisphere. For morphological description and characters of its distribution in Thailand, see Korovchinsky (1992) and Korovchinsky and Sanoamuang (2008a).
Diaphanosoma tropicum Koprovchinsky, 1998 View in CoL . Encountered in winter only, in one reservoir (loc. 27) and in one pond (loc. 31); rather numerous. Rare Oriental species, known from South India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and Hubei Province of China ( Korovchinsky 1998). For description, see Korovchinsky (2004).
Latonopsis australis Sars, 1888 View in CoL . Encountered in the littoral of one reservoir (loc. 22) in winter. The species was described from Australia, it is presumed to be pantropical, but is probably a species complex ( Korovchinsky, 2004). Rather common in tropical Asia ( Korovchinsky 2004, 2013).
Pseudosida szalayi Daday, 1898 View in CoL . Encountered in two paddy fields (loc. 40, 43) in spring. Paleotropical species, rather common in tropical Asia. Phytophilous species. For more detailed description, see Korovchinsky (2010).
Sida ortiva Korovchinsky, 1979 View in CoL . Uncommon, encounterd in reservoirs, ponds and rivers in both seasons. East Asian species, distributed from East Siberia to Bangladesh and South Vietnam ( Korovchinsky, 2004). Records of Sida crystallina ( O. F. Müller, 1776) View in CoL from East China ( Chiang & Du 1979) probably all belong to S. ortiva View in CoL instead (see Korvchinsky 2004). For description see Korovchinsky (2004), and Kotov et al. (2012).
