Pseudotiron golens Barnard, 1962 View in CoL
Pseudotiron golens Barnard, 1962, p. 59 View in CoL , figs 50–51.—J.L. Barnard, 1972, p. 45 (with slightly corrected diagnosis).
Type fixation. Holotype.—Original designation.
Material ( not seen). Holotype, sex unknown, 5 mm. Cape Basin , 36°34’S, 14°08’S, 4893 m, small bottom trawl, RV Vema 14, stn 53, 4 April 1958, LGO No. 49.
Paratype. Cape Basin , 23°00’S, 8°11’S, 4050 m, small bottom trawl, RV Vema 12, stn 18, 7 May 1957, LGO Reg. No. not known (1 damaged specimen, 6 mm) .
Distribution. Cape Basis, off SW Africa, 4893 m.
Remarks. Details of the rostral area are not described or illustrated by Barnard (1962). The short, rounded front projection of the head and the slightly less than vertical, straight lateral front margin suggest the presence of a distinct rostrum hidden behind antenna 1. The species is otherwise in agreement with the present diagnosis of the genus.
