Whipper Snapper. To 61 cm (24 in) TL ( Fuertes and Araya 1979). Southern Baja California (27°06’N, 114°11’W) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) to Paita, Peru ( Chirichigno 1974), including lower Gulf of California ( Allen 1985) and Islas Galápagos ( Grove and Lavenberg 1997) and other offshore islands ( Robertson and Allen 2002).
