Near Diablo Cove, central California (Jay Carroll, pers. comm. to M.L.) to Callao, Peru ( Chirichigno and Vélez 1998) , including southern and central Gulf of California ( Robertson and Allen 2002) and Islas Galápagos ( Miller and Lea 1972). Surface to 30 m (98 ft) (min.: Robertson and Allen 2002; max.: Amezcua Linares 1996).
