Type species. Stephanus parvulus Nees, 1812
Diagnosis. Mandible with at least four teeth, fourth tooth between tooth one and two, a fifth tooth present in some species between teeth two and three. Eyes bare or essentially so. Fore wing with vein r arising from or distal half of stigma or next to its middle. Metasoma with at least some degree of lateral compression in female. Body elongate. Parasitoids of Chloropidae (Diptera) .
