( Figs 35–44 View Figs 32–45 )
Materialexmined – Maleholotype: CostaRica, SanJosé, Escazu, 2–13 May 1988, leg. F. D. Porter. – Holotype is in good order: (1) glued direct to the pin by its right mesosomal side; (2) leftantennaapicallydeficient: flagellumwith 13 flagellomeres (i.e. ultimatefive flagellomeresmissing); (3) righthindfemurlessvisibleowingtothemounting. Holotype is deposited in HNHM, Hym. Typ. No. 12229 .

Distribution – Costa Rica.
Taxonomic position – The new species, Microchelonus avron , is closest to M. hebes sp. n. consideringtheirposteriorlyconicule- shapedcarpace ( Figs 41 View Figs 32–45 , 243), antenna 18–19 antennomeres, hindfemur 2.9–3.1 timesaslongasbroad ( Figs 39 View Figs 32–45 , 241) and black body. The two species differ from each other by the followingfeatureskeyed:
1 (2) Headindorsalviewtransverse, 1.9 timesasbroadaslong, eyealmost twicelonger (20:11) thantemple, templeratherreceded ( Fig. 35 View Figs 32–45 ).
