Naddia hainanensis Yang and Zhou, 2010 View in CoL
( Figs 2-1, 2-2 View FIGURE 1-2 )
Yang and Zhou 2010: 7 ( Naddia ; Type locality: China: Hainan) .
Measurements. Body length: 11.7 mm. CL: 0.76; EL: 2.69; ELS: 1.62; EW: 2.79; HL: 1.84; HW: 2.11; PO: 0.85; PL: 1.99; PW: 2.23.
Distribution. Naddia hainanensis is at present known from Wuzhi Mountain in Hainan Province.
Diagnosis. Naddia hainanensis has the smallest body size (less than 12 mm) among all the known species of the genus Naddia , and it is the only species known from Hainan Island at present. It can also be easily distinguished from other species of the genus Naddia by the reddish elytra, the special form of dense setae on lateral sides of sternite 8 and the shape of antenna (last segment relatively much longer and larger).
Notes. The only specimen of Naddia hainanensis known at present is in rather poor condition, missing most parts of its middle and hind legs of the left side, and the tip of the left hind wing is also missing. Both antennae are glued on the mounting cards, but the order of the segments may be wrong, so in the line drawings only the apical segments of the antennae are provided. Abdominal sternite 7 medially with shallow fovea bearing long and dense setae at median portion, and about one-third of these setae are missing, with only punctures remaining. Sternite 9 and tergite 10 are lacking most of their setae on the entire surface, and sternite 8 is missing most setae on the middle part of its surface; in the ling drawings the missing setae of these parts are added for reference only.
