Genus Himalaea Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998 View in CoL
Himalaea Hreblay & L. Ronkay in Hreblay, L. Ronkay & Plante, 1998, Esperiana , 6: 135.
Type species: Himalaea unica Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998 , by original designation.
Diagnosis. Males of the genus are characterised by the bipectinate antenna, and the ash-grey body and forewing colouration. The main diagnostic feature in the male genital capsule is the long and robust digitus separated from the valva surface (whereas digiti of other Psaphidini genera are smaller and fused with valva surface). The phallus vesica of the genus has one or two distal sclerotised diverticula bearing sclerotised serrulate plates apically, the feature also occurring in certain other genera of Psaphidini such as Valeria , Meganephria , Benedekia , Allophyes , etc., however, its combination with a robust digitus and reduction of a harpe (which is present but very short in the type species and absent in H. batanga sp. n.) is unique within the tribe.
