Global distribution: AU, NA, NT, PA.
Argentinian distribution: Neuquén, Río Negro.
Ecology: This species was found in both temporary and semi-permanent environments, at altitudes from 66 to 909 m a.s.l., with temperature water values ranging between 8.4 and 15°C, with neutral to alkaline waters (pH: 7.3–8.3), electrical conductivity values from 280 to 1220 μS/cm, and oxygen concentration values between 4.7 and 12.3 mg /l.
