Global distribution: NA, NT, PA.
Argentinian distribution: Neuquén, Río Negro.
Ecology: This species was found in shallow waters, swampy areas with muddy sediment and abundant vegetation. These environments are located at altitudes between 657 and 816 m a.s.l., with low temperatures (8.44– 9.73 °C), with conductivity values ranging from 119 to 137 μS/cm and with dissolved oxygen values between 7.38 and 17.5 mg /l.
