In Canada, this uncommon collected eucnemid species has been recorded in British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Québec and taken for the first time in Manitoba. One specimen was taken from a UV light trap. MANITOBA: Bissett , near Rice Lake , 27 June 1997, D.A. Pollock ( CMNH). In the United States, M. pectinatus was distributed in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin ( Muona 2000). New state records include Alabama, Arkansas and Ohio. Specimens were taken from a Lindgren funnel trap, blacklight trap and a cross-vane panel trap.
