Parasesarma pictum (De Haan, 1835) *

Material examined. 1 male (9.2 x 8.2 mm) ( DABFUK), Kavaratti, 4 January 2014 .

Remarks. A new record from Lakshadweep. The identity of the Indian material referred to this species (see Trivedi et al. 2018)requires confirmation. There are slight differences in the chela and gonopods of material from the Indian Ocean and the east Pacific (where P. pictum s. str. occurs), suggesting there may be more than one species.
