Material examined. 1 female (35.1 x 42.9 mm) ( DABFUK), Minicoy, 17 August 2013 .
Remarks. Previously recorded from Lakshadweep ( Thomas 1969). This is the most widely distributed gecarcinid species in the Indo-West Pacific (Türkay 1974), and is the only one known from the western Indian Ocean.
