Material examined. 1 male (12.6 x 10.8 mm) ( DABFUK), Bitra, 13 May 2015 .
Remarks. Trapezia lutea is superficially similar to Trapezia cymodoce (Herbst, 1801) and many old records of the latter species will need to be checked (see Castro 1997). Both species have a wide Indo-West Pacific distribution and can occur together in the same reef. Trapezia lutea is recorded for the first time from India.
