Cercobelus isara Noyes & Hanson, 1996:108-109 View in CoL . Holotype E, Costa Rica, NHMUK, examined. DIAGNOSIS. Female (length about 1.1-1.4mm): scape (Figs 1655, 1656) dark brown; scutellum black mainly with a coppery purple sheen; all coxae dark brown; legs mostly dark brown with mid femur white at base and mid tarsus largely white to pale yellow; hind tibia dark brown without a white basal area; fore wing (Figs 1650, 1651) weakly infuscate below marginal and stigmal veins, otherwise more or less hyaline; mandible with one small acute tooth and a broad, straight, truncation with a serrate margin; scrobes shallow, but distinct and meeting dorsally; antenna (Figs 1655, 1656) with scape about 3.7X as long as broad; pedicel about 1.5X as long as broad; funicle without linear sensilla on F1; F1 smaller than F2, all funicle segments quadrate or transverse; clava about as long as funicle; mesoscutum at least 3X as long as pronotum medially in dorsal view (Fig. 1654); marginal vein (Fig. 1651) about 1.5X as long as broad and touching anterior wing margin; hind wing nearly 4X as long as broad; propodeum (Fig. 1654) about one-fifth as long as scutellum and virtually smooth medially, spiracle about its own diameter from anterior margin; gaster slightly shorter than thorax; apex of syntergum smooth; hypopygium (Figs 1648, 1649) not longitudinally divided with very short anterior apodemes; ovipositor Fig. 1653). Male (length about 1.4-1.9mm): fore wing completely hyaline; hind tibia brown without a white, basal band; antenna (Fig. 1652) with all funicle segments longer than broad and clothed in setae that are about 2X as long as diameter of segments, otherwise similar to female; costal cell of fore wing with a single line of setae ventrally; genitalia Fig. 1647.
