Occurs widely in tropical and subtropical areas of the Americas (including the Lesser Antilles), Africa, southern Europe, Asia, Australia and the Pacific; polyphagous, feeding on plants belonging to 27 families; a pest of Citrus. Recorded from Saint Lucia by CABI (1982) and Malumphy (2012).
