Zeugomutilla pycnopyga Chen, 1957: 157 , ♂, type locality: " Shaowu " ( China: Fujian); Lelej et al. 2017: 11 View Cited Treatment , ♂

Material examined. CHINA: Hong Kong : Pak Sha O, Malaise trap, 20–27.vii.2008, 14–31.v.2009, 26.ix– 18.x.2009, 15–31.v.201, 3♂, UTM; 50Q KK 242 849, 70 m, ref.: M062. C.Hy. 5, M064. C.Hy. 4, M076. C.Hy. 4 [ CB, IBSS]; same location, by hand, 19. iv.2018, 1 ♂, ref.: 0652. C.Hy. 2 [ CB] .

Distribution. China (Fujian, Yunnan, * Hong Kong), Thailand ( Lelej et al. 2017).

Remarks. Zeugomutilla saepes ( Chen, 1957) has been suspected to be the female of Z. pycnopyga , but there has not been sufficient evidence to associate them. Since Hong Kong (SAR) is likely to support only one species of Zeugomutilla , discovery of that species here could provide the data needed to formalize that association, or discovery of a Zeugomutilla female that is not conspecific with Z. saepes would support the caution shown by previous authors.
