Material examined. 11 specimens NHM UK 2013.1055-1065, Stn 49: Atlantic , Northwest (South of Halifax, Nova Scotia); 155 m .

Supplementary description. Poltarukha & Zevina (2006a).

Distribution. North Atlantic. Known depth range 2 to 1600 m.

Habitat. On sponges, octocorals, gorgonian corals Paragorgia arborea ( Linnaeus, 1758) , Primnoa resedaeformis ( Gunnerus, 1763) and hydroids.

Remarks. Hoek (1883) also examined two specimens of O. stroemii obtained from Murray and collected at HMS “Triton” Stn 10 (Atlantic, Northeast; 943 m). This material is not in the NHM collection.
