Type species: Hoffeinsia foldii , by original designation.
The genus was described for the type species, Hoffeinsia foldii Koteja, 2008 , which was based on the first instar nymph inclusion in Baltic amber.
The holotype and two paratype first instar nymph of this species are inclusions in Baltic amber.
