Material. 58 specimens (22 C, 25 V, 11 F).
Description. Large and elongated carapace. Strong overlap of the valves, especially posteriorly and ventrally. Pronounced bow-shaped projection. Lmax, Hmax and Wmax almost median. Dorsal margin of the smaller RV almost straight. Dorsal margin of the larger LV convex. Hinge line in a longitudinal depression. Ventral margin of both valves regularly convex. In the smaller RV, anterior and posterior margins forming angles of about 150° with the dorsal margin. Outline of the larger LV more rounded. Anterior and posterior margins of both valves well rounded. Small papilla in the middle part of the rim of the larger LV. Surface smooth.
Discussion. These specimens show a large and thick carapace, but less symmetrical than the one of T. clava ( Kegel, 1932). The strong overlap and the small mid-dorsal papilla are however features of this species.
Occurrences. Middle Givetian (Candás Fm, mbs A, B and C), Asturias (Peran-Perlora section); Frasnian (Rodanas Fm), Spain (Tabuenca).
