Ampuloides cf. avus Zagora, 1967
(Pl. III: Figs. 10 & 11)
cf. 1979 Ampuloides avus Zagora, 1967 ; Feist & Groos-Uffenorde: 123, pl. 8, figs. 55–59. 2013 Ampuloides sp. P1; Maillet: 137, pl. XVIII, figs. 18–19.
Material. 21 specimens (4 C, 16 V, 1 F).
Description. Small elongated carapace with a posterior part very inflated. Overlap of the larger LV over the RV along whole outline with a marked ventral bow-shaped projection. Hmax at 1/3 anterior; Lmax median; Wmax at 1/3 posterior. Straight dorsal margin. Regularly convex ventral margin. In lateral view, well-rounded anterior and posterior margins. Anterior part of the carapace higher than posterior one. Surface papillose. In ventral view, sulcus longing free margins of each valve in the posterior part of the carapace.
Discussion. An indisputable Ampuloides , particularly reminding A. avus Zagora, 1967 . Specimens from the Candás Fm show however a more elongated carapace than this species.
Occurrences. Middle Givetian (Candás Fm, mb A), Asturias (Peran-Perlora section).
