Description. Medium-sized carapace. Slight overlap of the larger RV over the LV at free margins, especially ventrally. Hmax median; Lmax at about 1/4 dorsal; Wmax slightly posterior. Straight hinge line and dorsal margin. Anterior cardinal angle of about 100°. Posterior cardinal angle of about 80°. Anterior margin more widely rounded that the posterior one. Ventral margin regularly convex. Marginal flattening of the valves along free margins. Surface smooth. Lateral wing in the ventral part, between 1/2 and 2/3 of Lmax from anterior margin, pointing towards postero-ventral part.

Discussion. A species quite rare in the Givetian of Asturias by comparison with other regions such as Ardenne, Eifel or Bohemia.

Occurrence. Lower to Middle Givetian (Hanonet, Terres d’Haurs, Mont d’Haurs, Névremont Fms, and Fromelennes Fm, Flohimont Mb), Ardenne (Flohimont, Cul d’Houille, Mont d’Haurs, Resteigne, Couvin, Hotton, Aisemont and Aisne sections); Middle Givetian (Candás Fm, mb C), Asturias (Peran-Perlora section); Givetian, Boulonnais; Middle Devonian, Bohemia, Poland, Eifel and Ruhr.
