Apotetamenus gorochovi Cadena-Castañeda and Cortés-Torres , new species
(Plate 7)
Diagnosis. Face with three dark stripes arranged as follows: lateral bands extending from the lower part of the ocular sockets and a thick central stripe surrounding the central ocellus. Spots of the lateral lobes of pronotum originating from the anterior margin, tapering towards the medial length of pronotum. Ovipositor curving gradually, subgenital plate triangular with truncated apex.
Comparative notes. Apotetamenus gorochovi is distinguished from related species in the form of the clypeus, which is pentagonal, while in the other species it is triangular (Plate 9). The entire length of clypeus plus labrum in A. gorochovi is long as 0.7 times the length of the mandibles.
PLATE 7. Apotetamenus gorochovi n. sp. A. Habitus lateral view. B. ovipositor.
A. gorochovi differs from A. amazonae onn the basis of the position of the spot; in A gorochovi n. sp. the spots on the pronotal lateral lobes are yellow (Plate 9F) and the hind femur is broad, two-thirds of the length of the same. The species is similar to A. clipeatus in general coloration (reddish brown), but the dorsal apex of hind femora is not pigmented.

Description. Head: Fastigium 1.5 times wider than scape; eyes kidney-shaped. Frons slightly produced, clypeus pentagonal, labrum circular shorter than the mandibles, maxillary palpus with apex dilated. Face with three brown stripes distributed as follows: two under the eyes and a central stripe from the frons to fronto-clipeal suture (within this stripe with a yellow patch around the central ocellus); genae yellow. Thorax: Pronotum smooth covering much of the vertex and first tergite abdominal, posterior margin of the pronotal disc concave with humeral sinus obsolete, lateral margin with a yellow spot originating at the confluence of anterior and inferior margin to half length of pronotum. Prosternum armed with spines. Mesosternum wider than long, constricted at the medial region and a spine on each lobe, widely separated from each other. Metasternum with a broad medial incision with the spines of the lateral lobes exposed on the ventral margin almost touching and triangular shaped between these.: Fore legs. Base of the coxa with a spine, cylindrical, unarmed; genicular lobes unarmed. Tibia armed with six spines on ventral margin, one on the dorsal margin and four on the apex, tympanum exposed on both sides. Middle legs. Coxa with a blunt spine at the apex, femur unarmed, tibiae with dorso-external margin with two spines and the dorso-internal with three, ventro-external margin with two spines and ventro-internal with four. Hind legs. Femur with two thirds of its length thickened. Abdomen: Terguites dark brown, pleurites and sternites yellow. Tenth terguite flattened with oval epiproctus. Ovipositor long, slightly curved and margins without serrulate. Subgenital plate triangular with truncated apex.
Male. Unknown.
