status

Piestopleura kivuensis Risbec, 1958: 132 , figs 21a, 21b.

Current status. Leptacis kivuensis

Holotype Ƥ? & paratypes 3; Ƥ, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Northern Lake Kivu, Rwankwi ( MRAC); paratypes 3 ƤƤ; 3, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Northern Lake Kivu, Rwankwi ( MNHN); paratypes 6 ƤƤ, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Northern Lake Kivu, Rwankwi (lost). Holotype by original designation.

Remarks. Four paratypes in the MNHN were seen. The remaining nine type specimens listed by Risbec were not seen, although the holotype is in the MRAC (E. de Coninck pers. comm.) and one female paratype and one male paratype are at the MRAC ( Masner 1960; Huggert 1976). The remaining paratypes are possibly there too. Risbec may have incorrectly sexed some of the specimens since there appear to be at least two male paratypes when Risbec mentioned only one. This species was transferred to Leptacis by Masner (1960).
