Etymology: —The specific epithet commemorates Felix Rosen, a German botanist who collected this species.

Distribution and habitat: — Crotalaria rosenii is a high land shrub, endemic of the mountains of Ethiopia, between 1350–2800 m.a.s.l. ( Thulin, 1983), it grows in the evergreen bushland, grassland, stream edges, and margins of forests ( Polhill, 1982; Thulin, 1983). In Colombia, this species has been cultivated between 2600–2800 m.a.s.l. in the Cundinamarca and Boyacá departments (Naturalista, 2021). In Ecuador, it has been cultivated between 2200–2800 m.a.s.l. at Quito ( Naturalista, 2021b) and Ibarra ( Naturalista, 2021c).
