Scaphiophis albopunctatus Peters, 1870

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — 1 ♀ ( MRAC 73 14 R 16), Agou.

MORPHOLOGY. — TL 1020 mm; rostral scale very prominent; 22 MSR, smooth; 200 Ven, smooth; 60 Sc, paired; anal divided; 4 loreals arranged in two rows; 5 supralabials; 8 infralabials; 2 preoculars; 3 postoculars; 2 suboculars; 4 or 5 anterior temporals.

DISTRIBUTION. — The sole specimen examined, from Agou at the limit between ER III and IV, does not allow us to define the distribution of this species in Togo. Pending the collection of additional specimens, we consider it to be present in ER III and IV. The species was cited from Togo by Broadley (1994) from Agou, Atakpame, Ezime and Tohoun.
