Type :— URUGUAY [“Brasilia meridional”], Sello 766 ( K000500425 !, lectotype, designated here; isolectotype: HAL113163 About HAL !) .
The species was described based on herbarium material kept at B ; ‘ Sellow legit in Brasilia meridionali. (v. sp. s. ∞.)’ was mentioned in the protologue. The material deposited at B [photo F16094 !] was destroyed during the World War II. Duplicates of the original material were found at K and HAL. The lectotype designated above corresponds more closely to the original description, and its plant has a greater number of basal leaves. Trujillo et al. (2014) mistakenly designated a neotype for the species name, and the choice of a lectotype has priority over the neotype (Art. 9.19) .
